Dear Colleague,

Thank you for visiting the Newcomers of Great Falls website. I joined Newcomers three years ago, and it has been a huge and positive influence on my life in Great Falls. I know that Newcomers can be a great experience for you too.

Newcomers is a thriving organization that includes members who are new to Great Falls and those who have lived here many, many years. So you needn’t be new to be a Newcomer – we welcome everyone in the community!

Our organization has three purposes: 1) To foster an atmosphere in which residents of the community can meet others and make friends 2) To provide social and educational activities for our members and 3) To provide service and donations to charitable organizations.

Newcomers offers activities that appeal to everyone! Our club hosts monthly luncheons, usually with speakers. Our interest groups include Active Women/Sports, Book Discussion, Wine Tasting, Bridge, Moms & Tots, Dancing, Gardening, Cookbook Cooking, and more. Our Nature Walks group takes hikes in Virginia and Maryland, and our Cultural Tours offer fun and educational visits to places you might not normally see.

From a philanthropic perspective, Newcomers also gives you the opportunity to support other non-profit organizations. In recent years, for example, we have raised funds for organizations such as Lift Me Up!, the Great Falls Volunteer Fire Department, Suited for Change, the Embry Rucker Shelter, and The Women’s Center.

You can participate in daytime, evening, weekday, and weekend activities. You can go to one event or many – it’s entirely up to you. So please join us. Download a membership form from this website, mail it in today, and get on our newsletter mailing list. I guarantee you’ll be glad you did, and I’ll look forward to personally meeting you!

Best wishes,
Joan S. Pifer
